Daily drawings are still underway in my outdoor studio, but daily scanning, writing and blog posting will resume when the spring semester is over shortly and there is a little more space and time for all that.  Thanks for your patience!

infinitely changing

A gorgeous tangle of forsythia shadows against the wall.  Infinitely changing as some strong cold spring gusts blow around.

accumulation

My son and I spent some time investigating the pinecones, fish scales, sticks and other scraps along the edge of the lake today.  Earthy, smelly, real.

onto the next

More forsythias.  This time saturated and withered yellow blossoms giving way to fresh green leaf buds.  And all while I try to enjoy the pace of things.

the two

5.9 x 7.9″ watercolor on paper

Surprisingly thick and huge needles found on these two pine boughs.  Felt right to draw on this, my second wedding anniversary.

new green

Some gorgeous skunk cabbage sprouting up in the mud along a river hike this morning.

pouring

First outside-in-the-rain painting of the year!

in the air

5.9 x 7.9″ watercolor on paper

First drawing of the year done entirely outside in the fresh air!  I’m hoping to be working outside everyday through most of the rest of the year now.  Joy!

a sense of it

Feeling that good things are on the horizon.

focusing on the positive

Loving the forsythias– a yellow wall glowing wherever I look outside.
